The regular season
for Anchorage West Little League begins in early May
(weather permitting) and ends in late June. All-Star
practice starts no earlier than June 15. All-Star
tournament play starts in early July in Anchorage. The
regular season is a recreational program, with emphasis on
building skills and having fun. The All-Star season is a
shorter, more competitive program for more skilled
players, ages 9 and up, chosen from regular season
rosters.
Ages 5 and 6:
T-ball.
Ages 7 and 8: Coach-pitch.
Ages 9 to 12: Minors (beginners or lesser skilled)
Ages 9 to 12: Majors (teams chosen by tryouts)
Ages 13 and 14: Juniors
Ages 14, 15 and 16: Seniors
NOTE: Age for
Little League purposes is the child’s age on April 30 of
the current season.
Players in the
T-Ball, Coach-pitch and Minors classifications usually
have 1 or 2 games and 1 or 2 practices each week. Players
in the Majors, Juniors and Seniors usually have 2 or 3
games and one or more practices each week.
Our home playing
fields for T-ball through Majors are at Lyn Ary Park,
map, in the Turnagain neighborhood. Juniors and
Seniors play home games at Kosinski Fields next to Mulcahy
Park by the Sullivan Arena.
